Boston Globe: Salt & Olive Shop Looks Like A Well-Stocked Pantry
Excited about today's feature in The Boston Globe!
Mary Dean Taylor, a former shoe executive, traded in a life of laces and soles for oils and vinegars. Her new Salt & Olive shop is the culmination of extensive travels and a serious education in olive oil (in Italy). The bright and inviting space in Harvard Square, with large windows and black wood floors, feels like an immaculately stocked pantry. Divided in two, the larger, more prominent half is lined with shining canisters of oils ($16-$30) from Spain and Italy, infused with seasonings such as chipotle and herbes de Provence; and white and dark balsamic vinegars in maple, blackberry, and espresso flavors. Scattered around the containers are stacks of tasting cups, pieces of bread for sampling, and menu cards. The smaller room houses one wall of spices, both rare and recognizable, and another wall of assorted salts. Click here to view the full article.
