Mary Taylor, Owner
Olive Oil Sommelier

Mary Taylor owner salt and olive After more than 20 years as a senior executive and intraprenur with such leading international sports brands as Puma, Converse, and Ryka, Mary transitioned to entrepreneur, focusing on her greatest passion: food as love, joy, and connection. Mary is an Olive Oil Sommelier — a certified technical olive oil taster who completed the rigorous program of the oldest olive oil tasting group in the world, ONAOO: Organizzazione Nazionale Assagiatori Olio di Oliva. In addition, she has earned a master certification from the IOOS: The International Olive Oil School.

Mary’s expertise extends to the exceptional balsamic vinegars and other specialty cooking ingredients not readily available or curated by mainstream sources. Committed to the values of fresh, organic, sustainable practices and local as it pertains both to makers and producers and small business, Mary is a member of the Harvard Square Business Association’s Executive Board.

Her experience lends insight into creative ways to foster and delight in that connection and supports Mary's mantra: "Food brings people together." 


Katie Epstein 
Associate and Aspiring Nutritionist

Katie has spent most of her life as a dancer, and she's now in graduate school studying nutrition and dietetics. Drawing on her understanding of the essential link between food and vitality, she's motivated by the fact that good nutrition from good, simple ingredients can equal delicious meals. And that equals happiness. If she can find a way to bring this equation to life while traveling the world, all the better.


Zoe Fieldsteel 
Associate and Future Educator 

Zoe is a lifelong East coaster but is relatively new to the Boston area. Her curious mind is mirrored by her love of food, and she revels in expanding her culinary knowledge — and her palate — every day.  Zoe quickly transitioned from college graduate to graduate student pursing a degree in deaf education. In her spare time, she enjoys exploring Cambridge and Boston, spending time with friends new and old, and reliving her glory days in the Brown University Band.




Rachel Priebe
Associate and Aspiring Nutritionist

Rachel Priebe Salt and Olive employeeRachel hails from Madison, Wisconsin (go Badgers!), but has spent the better part of the last decade in Boston, receiving her undergraduate degree in Nutritional Science and working towards a Masters' in Nutrition, both at Boston University. She strongly believes that people can heal themselves with quality whole foods and ingredients and hopes to spread this mantra to everyone she meets. When not studying or working, Rachel enjoys traveling, reading, and baking cake (her favorite food).
